Privacy Policy

DeathCam.gg ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of all users of the Service. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we store it, and your rights in relation to that data. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. This policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service.

2.1 Server Owners and Community Administrators

When a server owner adds the DeathCam bot to their Discord server, we collect and store:

• Discord Guild ID (unique identifier for your Discord server)
• API key generated for your account
• Plan tier and usage metrics (e.g. clip count)
• Account creation date

2.2 End Users (Players)

When a player triggers a capture event on a game server running the DeathCam resource, we collect and store:

• A short video clip captured from within the game
• A unique clip code associated with that footage
• The Discord Guild ID of the server the clip belongs to
• A timestamp and expiry date for the clip

We do not collect player names, IP addresses, hardware identifiers, or any personally identifiable information beyond what is described above.

2.3 Discord Bot Interactions

When a user interacts with the DeathCam bot via slash commands, we process the submitted clip code solely to retrieve the associated footage. We do not log Discord user IDs, usernames, or message content beyond what is necessary to fulfil the request.

We use the data we collect solely to:

• Operate and deliver the DeathCam service
• Associate clips with the correct community account
• Enforce fair use limits and plan tier restrictions
• Investigate abuse or violations of our Terms of Service
• Improve the reliability and performance of the Service

We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.

Video clips are stored on Cloudflare R2, a secure cloud storage platform. Clip metadata is stored in a MongoDB database. Both platforms implement industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit. Access to stored data is restricted to authorised DeathCam.gg personnel only.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We shall not be liable for any unauthorised access, breach, or loss of data beyond our reasonable control.

Video clips are automatically deleted after a defined retention period. Clip metadata is deleted from our database in parallel with the associated video file. Community account data is retained for as long as your account remains active.

You may request deletion of your community account and associated data at any time by contacting us via our Discord support server. Note that deletion of account data does not entitle you to any refund of fees paid.

DeathCam.gg uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Cloudflare R2 — video clip storage
• MongoDB Atlas — database hosting
• Discord — bot platform and community hub

Each of these services operates under their own privacy policies and data handling practices. DeathCam.gg is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Request access to the data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict the processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, please open a support ticket in the DeathCam.gg Discord server. We will endeavour to respond within a reasonable timeframe. Note that certain data may be retained where we have a legitimate legal or operational reason to do so.

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will take prompt action to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time at our sole discretion. We will notify users of material changes via the DeathCam.gg Discord server. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
